SkinCare Tuesday: Get on the Castor Oil train

February 1, 2017

Hello, everyone,
It been a hot minute since I blogged. I have been trying to organize some more time so I can research and have time to write quality content a couple of times a week. So far, 2017 is off it a crazy hectic start but somehow I will find the time. Next week, I am going to NYC and I am crazy excited about that. I haven’t been back to New York since 2008 so this has been a long time coming. It is also NYFW, so I have to bring my fashion A game. I am starting a 10 week Bible study at my church and I am crazy excited about that. My husband and I have been praying for a bible study that we can get involved in that would be suitable for our insane schedule and finally we found one. Also, it just so happens that a lot of my family members will be attending as well. So win -win! Yay! So I will keep y’all updated on everything throughout the next month.

Anyways, let’s talk Castor Oil.

If you are like me , I thought  castor oil benefits were only limited to being a laxative and if you were past term pregnant and wanted baby to come out. LOL! However, it is much much more than that!

[What is it]

Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained from castor beans.  Castor oil is used in so many items both beauty and commercial uses.

[How to use]

In the past couple years I have used castor oil in different ways. I first started using in an empty mascara tube to apply to my lashes and eyebrows and dang! what a difference it has made

I mixed it in my magic stretch mark concoction I made when I got pregnant and I have not gotten any stretch marks. I still continue to use it on other areas I have stretch marks and have noticed the marks fading.

I have used it on my hair and scalp to treat my dry scalp, help moisturize and revitalize my hair.

I have also used it as a sleep aid. Because I have cortisol/hormonal issues, I cannot stay asleep, so I use a tiny bit of castor oil on my fingers and apply to my eyelids. I feel like it has helped me stay asleep throughout the night.

As many of you know I love my strong pharmaceutical grade skin care but I also love natural skin care. Its called balance y’all! lol No but seriously, natural skincare is amazing and also has more than one use/benefit, which is awesome.
But as with all natural skincare it many take a little longer than we are used to make a difference and see results. Don’t give up though! Stick with it! I promise results are real. Just be consistent.

Have you guys tried Castor Oil? What do you think?

Stay beautiful my friends!
