Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review

Bite Beauty has been a hit at Sephora, it seems that everyone has been raving about the brand and it’s amazing Amuse Bouche Lipsticks.

According to Sephora.com, Amuse Bouche lipsticks  are

A collection of high-impact lipsticks in dimensional shades that have been    handcrafted to deliver extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear. Swipe on bold, creamy lip color with Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche. Made with 12 edible oils and triple milled pigments, this lipstick provides saturated lip color with weightless coverage and a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit.

Of course, I had to try them. I went to Sephora and immediately  fell in love with them upon swatching a few shades on my wrist. They were so pigmented and creamy. So, I purchased one of the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in shade Honeycomb because I can never have enough nudes.  I did find a couple dupes in my collections for this shade, Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey and Too faced Melted Nude.

Now here’s the thing, these lipsticks swatch like a dream. However, on the lips it’s a completely different story.  This beautiful  pinky nude translated into ashy chalk lips on me. The creaminess that I loved in the swatch translated into a heavy and almost “cakey” on my lips. It immediately settled into fine lines emphasizing them, aging my lips, and made them feel dry and chapped. Like… WTH not OK!!! Needless to say I didn’t like this lipstick at all. It didn’t work for me.  I much rather prefer the Nars Audacious, Kat Von D Studded lips, or Mac Mineralize Rich lipstick.

Oh well, on to trying other products.  =)
